Angels Among Us

Passage: Daniel 6: 13-23 and Acts 12; 6-11

A sermon about Angels.   Angels are real, created by God.  Angels have been mentioned 300 times in the Bible.  Most of us will know that angels were sent by God as "messengers." Saving Daniel from the hungry lions; sending messages to Mary, Joseph and others prior to the Holy Child's birth and when Mary delivered, there were "hosts" of angels celebrating and crying Glory to God.  God directs them to protect us and guide us and yes, even save us from oncoming disasters, according to His will.  Have you ever seen an angel or have you ever felt their presence?  Have you had occasions when you thought sure that you were saved from an accident at the very last moment.... do you think that may have been an angel?  Have you heard current day stories where human beings have had the strength to lift a car off of a person?  Do you think that an angel helped perhaps?  Directed by God, they not only do help out in car accidents or disasters, they are also with us in hospital rooms, hospice rooms, and they can be ready to accompany our loved ones' spirits home to heaven.  They will lovingly spend the night to minister tor a very sick baby.  They do whatever is His will. However, Angels cannot spread the Good News.  Believe it or not, that's our job.  They have not known sin and salvation, so they cannot spread that word.    It is our responsibility as Christians to tell the world about Jesus since we know the story and know of salvation and redemption.  God directs us to share the Word and bring others to Christ.
