Labor Day – Why Work?
Why do we work? Some may say for power, big bucks, working toward the top. Some may also say that they "are working to serve the Lord." The Lord does not frown upon work....each of us working, making money, etc., but His point-His goal-His hope is that you work joyfully and thankfully, remembering who gave you the talents and skills that you are using to work. He also wants you to help others. Keep in mind that your gifts are God-given and give Him praise and glory for all that you have and are. Pastor Fitzgerald mentioned how he likes seeing church steeples, reaching high to the sky, like a beacon. It can be a symbol that reminds you that God is at home, in that church and in every other, and He is taking care of everyone. He's always available, He's always at home, ready to hear your prayers and your praises. He wants you to serve and take care of others and with that goal, you will be working for the glory of God who made you.
